Suddenly there is a rush of people having the error like error 1714 while updating or installing Adobe Acrobat reader. I have read on sites which have posted lots of stuff but let me put it in short.
1> Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
2> Install it and Run it.
3> Click on the Adobe Acrobat entry in the program list and remove them.
4> Install Adobe Acrobat again and it worked without any problems for me.
